When you buy insurance, what have your really purchased?  If you are fortunate enough to never have a claim you have bought peace of mind. However, in the event of a claim, you will quickly find out if the product you purchased is a good one or not.

At CCV Insurance & Financial Services Inc. we have taken steps to make sure you'll get good value for your money.  CCV has an in-house claims consultant available to help make sure your questions are answered and your claim is resolved in a fair and timely fashion.

In The Event of A Claim

The following guidelines will help you determine the best course of action to follow in the event of a claim.

  • In the event of an emergency, take whatever action is necessary to prevent further loss or damage without placing yourself or others at risk of personal injury.
  • Contact the authorities (Fire or Police) when necessary, as soon as possible.
  • Report the claim to CCV as soon as possible by calling 1-877-422-8123.
  • Discuss the details of the loss ONLY with the authorities, CCV, or your insurance adjuster.
  • Make no voluntary payments.
  • Do not authorize repairs, or commence repairs until your insurance adjuster has inspected the damage.
  • Do not dispose of any damaged property until authorized by your adjuster.

Q. After an accident, do I have a choice of where my vehicle is to be towed and repaired?

A. You can have your vehicle towed to and repaired at the facility of your choosing.  You do not have to have it towed or repaired to the shop recommended by the towing company.  If you do not know where you want it towed, the nearest dealer for your make of vehicle is always a safe bet.  Your insurance company will provide assistance after the claim is reported.

Q. How long will it take to settle my claim?

A. The first step is up to you. The faster you report your loss to CCV's toll free claim number, the faster we can begin handling your claim without delay.  Each claim is different and therefore the length of time needed to settle your claim depends on many factors.  Your claims adjuster will help you through each step of the process and can answer any questions you have about your claim.

Q. What is a deductible?

A. A deductible is the amount you agree to pay as part of the insured loss.  The insurance company pays for the amount of damage over the deductible if it is a covered loss.

Q. What should I do if the accident was not my fault?

A. Regardless of who was at fault, you should call and let us know the details of the accident.  This will ensure that all of your interests are protected if you need medical attention or repairs made to your vehicle.
